As a journalist who enjoys reporting about beautiful models and fascinating women all over the world, I am deeply saddened by the latest events surrounding Amber Cole.
Amber Cole is a 14-year old female student who was videotaped on school grounds performing a sexual act with a male student. According to reports, she wasn’t forced to engage in this act and was comfortable enough to perform the act in the midst of other male students.
However, I’m almost 100% certain she didn’t give consent to whoever released this video and made her an object of ridicule on Twitter and other social networking sites. I know, most videos released to YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook are released without consent, but there’s comes a point when we have to distinguish between right and wrong.
And this is dead wrong.
We could go on and on about how Amber Cole was a consenting participant, but similar to cases of statutory rape, minors can’t consent because they don’t have the maturity or mental aptitude to realize how physically and mentally detrimental such acts can be.
What Amber Cole consented to was a desperate act she thought would win back her ex-boyfriend, who also happened to be her first love. This was an emotionally starved, emotionally lost young lady whose self-esteem had been so severely damaged that she thought this was the only way for her to win back someone she loved.
Don’t you see the tragedy in that?
What she didn’t consent to was being humiliated, ridiculed, and degraded on a worldwide stage.
Yes, Amber Cole made a horrible decision and will have to live with that decision for the rest of her life.
Yes, there should have been better supervision on school property.
Yes, there are clearly issues regarding parental upbringing.
But this video clearly shows a young lady crying out for love. It’s a shame that she allowed herself to succumb to that level of self-degradation, but we’re talking about a 14-year old girl desperately in love. A young lady still trying to find her way in life while growing up in a generation that occasionally blurs success and financial stability with tell-all books from Karrine “Super-Head” Steffans and sex-tapes leaked by Kim Kardashian.
America, please stop watching the video. It’s useless, humiliating, and degrading.
Stop ridiculing Amber Cole.
Love and mentor this young lady so she can grow up to be a beautiful woman who radiates with self-confidence, beams with self-esteem, and can love while being loved.

All i want to know is what is the DEAL with Casy Anthony being not guilty??? I msean all the evidence was clearly shown that she had something to do with the murder of that innocent baby. It was shown how much of a liar her and her mother was. Her mother even tried to lie for her so I feel like she should have been charged with perjury. How could you have not known that your baby was missing yet you have all kinds of recent wild club photoes.I feel like the jury should have been hung. I sat there and watched the trial and a movie about the trial. I was and am still convinced that she is guilty.

(blackmediaSCOOP) Today the Supreme Court cleared the way for deathrow inmate Mumia Abu-Jamal to get a new sentencing hearing for the killing of a Philadelphia Police Officer more than 30 years ago.
After Faulkner stopped a car driven by Abu-Jamal’s younger brother, Abu-Jamal pulled a gun, shot the officer and sat on the curb until he was arrested by other police arriving on the scene. A year later he was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to die.
His guilt is no longer at issue, since a series of lower courts have upheld his conviction. But a federal judge and the U.S. court of appeals in Philadelphia set aside his death sentence because of a flaw in the jury instructions.
The judges claim that jurors may have thought they could not give leniency to Abu-Jamal unless they agreed unanimously on a particular “mitigating circumstance.” The Supreme Court had ruled in 1988 that jurors may give leniency based on any mitigating factor, and they need not agree unanimously on the same factor.
The jurors in Abu-Jamal’s case decided that killing a police officer was an “aggravating circumstance” that warranted a death sentence. But a federal judge and the federal appeals court ruled that the death sentence in this case violated the Constitution because of the flawed jury instructions.
Prosecutors remain free to convene a new jury to decide on his punishment.
What are your thoughts on this case?

The high court rejected a request from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office to overturn the federal appeals court decision declaring the death sentence unconstitutional for former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted of gunning down Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner more than 28 years ago.Abu-Jamal, a former radio reporter, was convicted of first-degree murder for the shooting and his conviction still stands.
His guilt is no longer at issue, since a series of lower courts have upheld his conviction. But a federal judge and the U.S. court of appeals in Philadelphia set aside his death sentence because of a flaw in the jury instructions.
